Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Ashok Vaja was exposed to many different cultures from a young age. By the time he was not even a teen he was fluent in English, Swahili, Hindi, Gujrathi, and Punjabi. His family moved to England in 1972.
Ashok Vaja started his career in life insurance in London, England in 1975. Working his way up the totem pole to become a branch manager handling 17 sales associates. Later on joining Life Association of Scotland as a senior financial adviser and in 1992 was number one salesman in the company. In 1993, he relocated to America as his children wanted to attend University there. He left the insurance business behind to pursue his lifelong dream of opening a restaurant from 1995 to 2000. In 2000, he joined New York Life and started his journey in the insurance world again, but this time setting his sights on all selling a much broader range of insurance products. Mayflower Insurance was born.
Ashok is an active member of his local community volunteering at Hindu Temples, Sikh Temple, and Jain Temples. Serving on the Wisconsin Association of Indian Community Organization, he took part in fund raising for the poor communities in inner cities. Mayflower Insurance Services sponsored a wide array of events ranging from Indian Volleyball tournaments to fairs at St. Francis & Clare Catholic.
